The Great Ziggurat of Ur

Standing for more than 4,100 years, the Great Ziggurat of Ur is one of the world's oldest and best-preserved monuments. Built around 2100 BC by King Ur-Nammu, founder of the Third Dynasty of Ur, this magnificent stepped pyramid was dedicated to Nanna (Sin), the Mesopotamian god of the moon.
